One thing I have noticed with a few of these reissues is that the pressing quality is lacking. Not the actual pressing of the groove, but the POSITION of it. On my copy of Master of Puppets and on two others Ive heard, the pressing is fractionally off-centre. Now this doesn't cause a problem for the majority of the lp but when it comes to long, susstained notes, (the beginning of Damage Inc.) there is a very noticealbe 'wow' effect that is utterly intolerable.
Like the blog says, these are classic and utterly indespensible additions to and true devotee of classic metal, just make sure you get a perfect pressing!!

You should have showed up, grabbed some of the fliers, taken some pics, and had them sign your Blind Dog record, explaining what a great fan you are, lol. Great story.

I used to go to bands based on the name. Ted Bundy's Volkswagen, Shadetree Mechanic, and even when in Fl I saw some band in a little metal club called Marylin Manson. I remember thinking this band is really good and this dude wants to keep talking to me. I think he said something like, "yeah, they're ok...but anyway, this chick was really hot and..."

In my first week in Minneapolis, I scanned the City Pages for concerts. I saw Blind Dog playing in some out-of-the way bar, and thought, "This is too good to be true." So I went online, found their site, and emailed them:

"I noticed that a band named Blind Dog is playing a show in Minneapolis this week. Is this the awesome stoner bank, or some hack job hillbilly number?"

I received a response pretty quickly:

"It's not us.

Thanks for the awesome, by the way."

I guess this got me on their email list, because I received an email the next year saying they broke up. Bummer.
